Maarten Derks
Maarten Derks (1958) is partner in Independent Capital. Maarten has over 10 years of experience in private equity, venture capital and financial restructuring.
His track record involves several private equity transactions and venture capital investments, such as Parkline, Zappwerk, TOTAL Identity, IC Group.
Before Independent Capital Partners Maarten was founder and director of Park Venture Fund, a venture fund based in the Netherlands with a strong focus on ICT. Prior to that he was Director for Twinning (the government incubator) in Rotterdam and Delft.
Maarten started his career with Royal Dutch and VRG Group in various commercial and management positions. Among other activities, he was involved within both companies with mergers & acquisitions. After his corporate life Maarten founded IC Group, which he sold in 2000 to Software AG in Germany.
Maarten has a master in Business and Tax law and is member of the advisory board of several companies.
